Apartments Under $1,000
Trade-offs: longer commutes, fewer amenities, smaller square footage, no in-unit washer/dryer. Worth it if you can absorb the lifestyle hit for the savings.
Apartments $1,000–$1,500
Won't get you a downtown high-rise or luxury finishes, but you'll have most modern amenities and a reasonable commute.
Apartments $1,500–$2,000
You'll have to choose between location (urban, slightly smaller) and space (suburban, larger square footage). Both are real options at this price.
Apartments $2,000–$2,500
You're paying for location and finish quality. Same square footage costs ~30% less in suburbs.
Luxury Apartments $2,500+
If price isn't a constraint, this gets you everything. Just be aware that the rent jump from $2,000 to $3,000 doesn't always mean meaningfully better — you're often paying for an address.
